A Note on This Case Study Lesson:

This lesson plan shows the MUSIC+ Framework in action, demonstrating how a standard grammar game can be transformed into a richer, more complete learning experience.

The lesson's foundation is a strong **Skills+** grammar game. This enhanced **Musical Grammar Pieces** lesson uses "Fortnight" to create a multi-layered learning experience. The activity begins by sparking curiosity (Motivation+ & Understanding+), moves into a competitive grammar game (Skills+), deepens comprehension through discussion (Interaction+), and concludes with creative tasks for personal expression (Creativity+).

Step-by-Step Instructions

BEFORE YOU BEGIN – Build Motivation+ and Understanding+ (5-7 min)

Visual Hook: Start by sharing an image of a calendar with two weeks circled. Ask: "What can happen in just two weeks that could change someone's life forever?"

Vocabulary Pre-Teach: Show 3-4 key vocabulary items (e.g., aesthetic, fortnight, temporary). Ask: "What kind of song do you think includes these words?"

Step 1: Individual Correction (5-8 min)

Screen-share the first Musical Grammar Piece (MGP) with three grammar mistakes. Give students 2 minutes to correct the mistakes silently. Repeat for the other two extracts.

Step 2: Listening Check & Self-Correction (10-15 min)

Play the audio extracts so students can check their corrections. Play each one 2-3 times.
